Carol Elaine Darby, age 85 of Tallapoosa, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026. She was born August 22, 1940 in Oakdale, Georgia, daughter of the late George Bridwell and Keenie 'Hamby' Bridwell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Darby, Sr.

Survivors include her children, Robert Darby, Jr., Mark Darby (Jennifer), Mike Darby (Dina), and Michelle Darby (Dan Klein); grandchildren, Catherine Cooper (Ben), Chandler Darby (Yvonne), Stefanie Parks (Justin), Ashley Turner (Sam), Natalie Hair (Michael), Brendon Darby (Lydia), Ben Darby Klein and Nicholas Darby (Madison); and eight great grandchildren.

A service will be held at the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Carr officiating on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 2pm. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until 2pm.

Interment will follow on Monday, August 31, 2026 at The Canton National Cemetery.
