Carolyn Morris Gaston, age 70, of Tallapoosa, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016. She was born on August 9, 1946 in Douglasville to the late Roscoe Morris and the late Sara Miller Morris. She was a 1965 graduate of Douglas County High School. Carolyn was retired from Oxford Industries and was Baptist by Faith. She was a loving and devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She had a kind, sweet and humble spirit and loved everyone she met. She will be missed by many. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Gerald Gaston; sister, Reba Keaton; brother, Jim Morris. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Gaston Abernathy and her fiancé Jimmy Massingill; sisters, Joyce Morris Walker and husband Mike, Evelyn Morris Monroe; A large extended family including numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Hightower's Memorial Chapel in Douglasville with Brother Bobby Keaton officiating. Chris Settle, Chris Bacon, Gary Gaston, Greg Walker, Paul Miller and Jesse Camp will be serving as Pall Bearers. Mike Walker and Jeff Miller will be Honorary Pall Bearers. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, 9400 Highway 166, Winston, Ga.
