Catherine Ann Walker Vandevender, age 63 of Temple, GA passed away May 13, 2010.She was born November 6, 1946 in Yazoo, Mississippi, to the late Mr. Frances Guy Walker and Evelyn Russum Walker. She was a homemaker, a hard worker, who dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren to whom she was Nanny. She was a member of the Westview Baptist Church. Survivors are her children; son and fiance', Raymond C. Vandevender, Jr. and Jaka R. Brooks, of Temple, daughter and son-in-law; AnnaLysa and Randy Blackston of Douglasville; daughter, Terri Lynn Baxter of Temple; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Guy and Mavis Walker of Mansfield, LA; sisters and brothers-in-law: Frances and James Carter of Lilburn, Betty and David Martin of Gauthier, Miss., aunts; Melba Walker Ross and Julia Francis Russum; grandchildren: Jonathan Crisler and Rachel Ellis, Anthony Chase Ellis, Breanna Lynn Baxter, Randall Ross Blackston, Jr., Sandra Beth Blackston, Jordan Levi Taylor Sparks, Raymond 'Brock' Vandevender and great granddaughter, Sadie Adaline Ellis. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 17, 2010 at 2:00 PM from Hightower's Memorial Chapel, Douglasville with Rev. Tommy Stowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosehaven Memorial Park with Jeremy Whitlow, Ross Blackston, Randy Blackston, Jonathan Ellis, Chase Ellis and Glenn Ellis serving as Pallbearers.
