Cheryl Lynn
Searles
Apr 20, 1958 — Oct 17, 2025
Cheryl Lynn Searles, age 67, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, October 17, 2025. She was born on April 20, 1958, in Cobb County, daughter of the late Grady R.L. Dunn and the late Ida Loretta Hamby Brewer. Cheryl was a quiet force in her community, working as a para-pro at Chapel Hill High School and then as a private caregiver. She gave her heart and created a special bond for those she cared for and cared for her.
Cheryl was a creative spirit who found joy in crafting and bringing new ideas to life. Whether she was working on a project or dreaming up something fun to do with her animals, she poured her heart and imagination into everything she did.
Cheryl was a devoted and loving mother and wife who always put her family first. She was a mother who went above and beyond in everything she did. The light of our lives, she brought warmth, laughter, and love into every moment she shared with us. Her kindness and strength touched everyone who knew her, and spirit will continue to light our path even in her absence.
She was everything to us – a guiding hand, gentle heart, and a source of endless encouragement. To her son, she taught strength, compassion, and what it truly means to love and to be a better person.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Donald Edward Searles; son, Christopher Caleb Searles; sisters, Kathy Galloway, Rita Gambini (Andrew) of Douglasville, Georgia and brother, Randy Dunn of Rome, Georgia; several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws; and three step-sisters.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Asher Galloway.
