Mr. Curtis F. Baker, Sr., age 55, of W. Hwy 5, Roopville, Ga., passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010. He was born July 20, 1955 in Ft. McPherson, Georgia the son of Mary Roberts Baker and J.C. Baker. Mr. Baker served his country in the U.S. Navy during peacetime and was a self employed mechanic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Denise Sanders Baker. Survivors include his parents, J.C. & Mary Baker of Roopville; his children, Alicia Baker Hart of Villa Rica, Curt Baker, Jr., Joshua Baker and Stephanie Baker all of Carrollton; sisters, Karen Baker of Roopville and Carol Delano of Franklin; brothers, Billy Baker and Jerry Baker both of Roopville; also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Phillip Thornton, Ely Vinson, Alexis Hart and Abigaile Hart. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Bobby Robinson officiating. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Starnes, Ben Holder, Chris Cross, Jeremy Shores, Taylor Austin and Alan Griffith. Interment will follow in Unity Baptist Church Cemetery with the American Legion Post #143 presenting the flag. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5 PM until 8 PM.
