Dallas Gerald Gaston of Tallapoosa, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Douglas County, April 7, 1940, son of the late Ira Calton Gaston and Bernice Stamps Gaston. Mr. Gaston was retired from Peachtree Professional Services in Rome and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Gaston and Merle Gaston. Survivors include wife, Carolyn Morris Gaston of Tallapoosa; a daughter, Sandra Gaston Abernathy of Atlanta; sisters, La-Nell Gaston, No. Augusta, SC, Carol Gaston of Aiken, SC and a brother, Larry Gaston of Fairplay. Services will be Sunday, January 30 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Keaton officiating. Kenneth Gaston, Gary Gene Gaston, Calen Camp, Travis Camp, Jason Walker and Greg Walker will serve as pallbearers. Mike Walker will serve as honorary pallbearer. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Douglas County.
