Mr. David Harvey Beck, age 62, of Bowdon, Ga., passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011. He was born January 14, 1949 in Ranburne, AL., the son of the late Harlin Clifton Beck and Annie Mae Nolen Stacey. Mr. Beck served his country in US Army during Vietnam and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was employed as a chemist for The Georgia Power Company and later the City of Griffin Water Department. Survivors include his wife, Martha Hearn Beck; son and daughter in law, John & Cindy Beck of Bowdon; sisters, Brenda & Keith Dodson of Carrollton, Cassondra & Gary Wright and Frederica & Danny Butler all of Bowdon; brother, Bobby Beck of Anniston, AL.; grandchildren, Tyler Rogers and Autumn Garcia; and an aunt, Etta Barnes of Bowdon. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 11 AM from Shiloh United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Hearn and Rev. Shirley Wright officiating. Music will be rendered by the Shiloh Church Choir, Carol Windom and Jane Smith. Pallbearers will be Adam Wright, Josh Barker, Jeffery Hearn, Donald Kaylor, Steve Jones, Brian Beck, and Kenneth Beck. James Hearn will serve as honorary pallbearer. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the American Legion Post # 143rd making the flag presentation.
