David Ray
Bonner
May 3, 1966 — Sep 8, 2026
David Ray Bonner, age 60, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at UAB Hospital.
He was born on May 3, 1966, in Carrollton, Georgia, the son of the late Donald Bonner and Brenda Strickland Duke. David worked as an over the road truck driver for LDE Enterprises in Rome, Georgia. A natural handyman and true jack-of-all-trades, there was very little he could not build, repair, or figure out. He was also a lifelong jokester whose sense of humor brought countless smiles and laughs to those around him. More than anything, David will be remembered for the joy he found in making others laugh and for always being willing to lend a helping hand.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Adams-Bonner, and his siblings, Charlie Strickland and Claude Strickland.
He is survived by his children, Christina Bonner and her husband, Joe Paschal, Leatha Faye Paige Bonner, Dakota Ray Bonner, Samantha Bonner, Dana Bonner, Kendra Smith and her husband, Steven Smith, and Trevor House and his wife, Cristina House; his grandchildren, Kaydence, Kole, Ryeleigh, Simmie, Brenda, Draven, and Soren; his brothers, Tony Duke, Todd Duke, and Tyson Duke; his sister, Janice Burns; his significant other, Connie House; and his cousins, Billy Bonner and Teresa Bonner.
The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
A funeral service celebrating David's life will follow at 3:00 PM in the chapel, with Rev. J.W. Daniel officiating.
