Diane Dailey
Campbell
Jan 3, 1942 — May 20, 2025
Diane Dailey Campbell, age 83, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on May 20, 2025. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on January 3, 1942, the daughter of the late John Clifton and LeClara Chadwick Dailey.
She is survived by her children: Mark Campbell (Robyn) and Mike Campbell (Karen); daughter-in-law: Theresa Campbell; grandchildren: Brittany Sutton (Matthew), Allison Armstrong (Aaron), Levi Campbell, and Micah Campbell; and great-grandchildren: Luke Armstrong, Carter Grace Sutton, Beau Armstrong, and Jack Campbell Sutton (expected).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Walter Jerome Campbell, and her cherished son, Kevin Jerome Campbell.
Diane was a devoted member of St. Julian's Episcopal Church for over 45 years. She faithfully served in many roles, including vestry member, altar guild, wedding coordinator, memorial garden manager, and church banker—always with the heart of a servant leader.
Her passion for helping others, especially children, led her to found Starting Over in 1999, a nonprofit that facilitates court-ordered parent-child visits in a nurturing environment. As director for 23 years, Diane helped countless children and families reconnect and begin again.
She was loved and will be missed by many.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Diane's caregivers over this last year: Mrs. Patricia, and her staff, including Ms. Sweta, Ms. Kathy, Ms. Ari, and Mrs. Sheila.
The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Canon Richard H. Callaway officiating.
