Donald Mark Chance, 68, of Woodland, Alabama, passed away at home on February 6, 2025. He was born on April 26, 1956, the son of the late Marvin Chance and Dot Higgins Chance.

Mark grew up in the Sand Hill Community and served his country in the United States Army. A true jack of all trades, he had many professions but most recently worked as an EMT with Heard County Fire & Emergency Services.

Mark was baptized in Christ and loved the Lord. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dan Chance and Mike Chance.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Patience Chance; companion, Melissa Peavy; grandchildren, Elijah Chance and Case Chance; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Jason Robbins; nephew, Jesse Chance; nieces, Jennifer Chance, Heather Otten, and Katie Chance; and his cornhole family.

A funeral service will honor and celebrate Mark's life on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Old Carrollton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from noon until the hour of service.
