It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Michael Norton, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world peacefully on August 3, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on July 17, 1943, in Carrollton, Georgia, son of the late Oliver Turner Norton and Lola Kelley Norton. Michael lived a life full of purpose and dedication, touching the lives of many along the way.

Michael proudly served his country in the Navy, exemplifying courage and commitment that resonated throughout his life. Following his service in the Navy, he held a variety of positions, including delivery driver and farmer, and he retired as a foreman with the Georgia Department of Transportation, Carroll County.

Besides his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Thomas Norton; daughter, Wanda Wolter; sisters, Lois Carson, Radder Faulkner, and Frances Lindsey; and brothers, John T. Norton, Oliver Norton, Charles Norton, Grady Norton, Myrel Norton, Dwight Norton, and Dillard Norton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Norton, who was his steadfast companion through all of life's journeys. Michael was a devoted father to his daughters, Sheila Squire (John) and Tasha Deese (Michael), and a cherished brother to Valeria McAdams (Billy). His legacy continues to flourish through his grandchildren, Lauren Huff and Leah Devore, as well as his great-grandchildren, Everly Huff, Knox Devore, and Piper Devore. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Gary Ammons.

Michael will be remembered not only for his unwavering work ethic and dedication to family but also for his warm spirit, infectious laughter, and kind heart. He had a way of making everyone feel special, and his presence will be profoundly missed.

In celebration of Michael's remarkable life, a visitation will be held at Hightower Funeral Home on August 5, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and August 6, 2025 from 2:00-3:00 PM, allowing family and friends to gather and share cherished memories. A funeral service will take place at Hightower Funeral Home on August 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Bro. Kevin McAdams and Mr. Alan Johnson will officiate. Bryan Warren, Jake Norton, Matthew Warren, Drew Norton, Neil Johnson, and Clint Carroll will serve as pallbearers. Donnie Lively, Keith "Buck" Norton, Robert "Rowdy" Prichard, Terry Norton and Alan Johnson will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Interment will follow at Pleasant View Church Cemetery. He will be laid to rest at 3457 US-27, Carrollton, GA 30117, where his family invites all who knew and loved him to join in this heartfelt farewell.

As we gather to honor the extraordinary life of Donald Michael Norton, let us celebrate his love for family, his service to his country, and the kindness he brought to the world. Though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
