Obituary

It is with both sadness and celebration of life that we announce the passing of Donna Lee Driver, born on September 24, 1956, in Carrollton, Georgia. Donna peacefully left this world on June 23, 2025, at the age of 68, surrounded by the love of her family. A proud and devoted member of the Carrollton community, she exemplified compassion as a retired registered nurse at Carousel Pediatrics, where she touched the lives of countless individuals over 30 years and made a significant impact in the healthcare field.

Known for her warm spirit and dedication to her family, she enjoyed reading, playing solitaire, and attending performances by the Carrollton High School Marching Band. Her greatest joy came from spending quality time with her grandchildren, including Brock McWhorter, Bailey McWhorter, Ruthie Collins, and Ella Silvey, creating cherished memories that will last forever.

In addition to her grandchildren, Donna is survived by her beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Kristi and John McWhorter, and Ginny and Jason Silvey, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Robert McWhorter. The love she nurtured in her family will continue to resonate through the lives she enriched.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, L.C. Bailey; her mother, Virginia Bailey; and her brother, Butch Bailey.

A celebration of Donna's remarkable life will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Visitation will be held at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 2:00 PM with Minister Caryl Strange officiating and Neal McWhorter delivering the eulogy. Donna will be laid to rest in Carroll Memory Gardens with Jason Silvey, John McWhorter, Neal McWhorter, John Driver, Brock McWhorter, Bailey McWhorter, Cooper Smith, and Brady McWhorter serving as pallbearers. Robert McWhorter will be seated as an honorary pallbearer.

While we mourn her passing, we also remember the incredible woman that Donna was. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Join us in celebrating her life and the wonderful memories she leaves behind.
