Edith Lucille Walker, age 88 of Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014. She was born May 12, 1926 in Arab, Alabama to the late Alver Lee Lands and Maggie Jane Nixon Lands. She retired from Lawler's Hosiery Mill in 1975, and was a lifelong member of Abilene Baptist Church. She was passionate about exercise and walked at least 3 miles a day well into her 80's, and enjoyed day hikes in the North Georgia Mountains with her family. Her true passion was caring for her family and she will always be remembered for her welcoming table, giving spirit, and kindhearted manner. She enjoyed traveling immensely, particularly repeated trips to her favorite places, San Francisco and Maui often with her devoted husband of 63 years.
