Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Ashmore Fitzhugh of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025.  She was born February 1, 1974, in Carrollton, Georgia, the daughter of Terry L. Ashmore and Catherine Mirth Cook Troutwine.

She is a 1992 graduate of Carrollton High School; she loved theater and possessed a talent for acting and singing.  Many of her friends and family have stated she was lighthearted, humorous, and intelligent.  She was "a lover of wisdom, had a desire to learn at least one new something a day, really funny, sometimes a bit loud, humble, caring, giving, respectful but not perfect."  As everyone who knew her will testify, she cared and gave to a fault.  Elizabeth will be missed by so many.

In addition to her father, Elizabeth leaves behind three sons: Nicholas Mitchell Fitzhugh of Carrollton, Georgia, Charles Lynn Fitzhugh and Samuel Hogan Fitzhugh of Oak Creek, Colorado, and her twin brother Adrian M. Ashmore of Bremen, Georgia.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her Mother, Catherine Mirth Cook Troutwine, and her grandparents, Louise Pendergrass Ashmore, Cecil Ashmore, Annie Mae Cook, and Hugh W. Cook.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Elizabeth will be determined at a future date.  However, there will be a graveside service on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM from Clem Community Cemetery.

The family wants to thank everyone for their prayers and kind words during this loss.  Indeed, a great soul has left us.
