Obituary

Ella Mae Martin, age 68, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on May 7, 2025. She was born in Altus, Oklahoma on September 12, 1956, daughter of the late Kenneth Newman and the late Jessie Gayle Newman.

Mom was a kind and loving woman. She always put others first and firmly believed that you should treat others as you would want to be treated. Mom didn't believe in idle hands so she was always doing something; working, tearing out walls, playing cards or feeding you (because food was her love language!). She was strong of heart and body, putting 100% into everything. Her arms were readily available to help you carry any weight, be it physical or of the heart. Although life wasn't always easy, she endured hardships with laughter and a positive attitude. She had an infectious giggle that flowed easily and she made things fun. She loved and spoiled her animals and everyone else's. She enjoyed traveling and the outdoors; camping, kayaking, tubing, and fishing. Her favorite place to be was at her little slice of heaven at the lake. Even when the weather was crummy, she would say that being there was peaceful and relaxing. It was her happy place. But what she loved more than anything in the world was her family. She enjoyed every minute she got to be with her family. That time together was precious and was what truly filled her cup.

She is survived by her husband: Eric John Martin; children: Kristy Tackett and her husband Aaron, Kyle Adams and his fiancé Brielle; step-children: Joshua John Martin and his wife Kristin, Jennifer Dover and her husband Allen Brown; grandchildren: Daniel, Britany, Oliver, Lukas, Maddox; and 3- great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Debbie Danford; brother: Kenneth Wayne Newman.

According to her wishes she was cremated. Services to be planned for a later date.
