Elner Wilson Shumake, age 82 of Temple passed away on June 3, 2025 at her home. She was born in Villa Rica on April 19, 1943, daughter of the late Arthur and Addie Lou Wilson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joe T. Shumake; sisters, Frances Earlene Driver, Gladys Bell Agan, and Emmer Lou Craven; and brothers, Joseph Jackson Wilson and James Hamilton Wilson.

Survivors include her son, Christopher Shumake of Temple; two grandchildren, Christian Nichole (Dustyn) Stephens of Douglasville and Katelyn Montana Shumake of Temple; one great grandchild, Dakota Brooke Stephens; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Services will be Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Hightower's Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Barron officiating. Victor Wallace, Tony Wallace, Chris Craven, Garland Holley, Dustyn Stephens and Chris Norris serving as Pallbearers.

Interment to follow at Corinth Cemetery.
