Evelyn Jean Robinson Brand Mock, age 85 of Roanoke, AL passed away Monday September 19, 2016. She was born August 21,1931 in Waco, daughter of the late Henry Vincent Robinson, Sr. and Mae Barrow Robinson. Mrs. Mock was a former employee of the U. S. Post Office in Atlanta where she worked as a clerk and also the Arrow Shirt Company in East Point. She was a graduate of Cave Springs School for the Deaf and a member of the Cruselle Freeman Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Emris E. 'Buck' Brand, second husband, Corrie Leo Mock; two sisters, Jeanette Harper and Katherine Benefield and a brother, H. V. Robinson, Jr. Survivors include her children, Jean and Jimmy Russell of Roanoke, Al, Michael Richard 'Ricky'and Mary Brand of St. Simon; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sisters, Bea Ellis of Waco, Linda, June and Sharon and a brother, Stanley Robinson of Sand Mountain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM. Services will be Wednesday, September 21 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Elder Dave Chandler and Elder Tommy Patterson officiating. The congregation will sing Amazing Grace under the direction of Elder Dave Chandler. Mark Benefield, Joey Truitt, Chris Smith, Randy Patterson, Dennis Ellis and B. L. Bentley will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Terry Harper officiating.
