Obituary

Floy Pearl "Sis" Vice was a beloved aunt, sister, mother and grandmother during her 91 years. She passed away on May 9, 2023 after a short illness. Her family is very saddened by her loss.

Floy had a long and full life. She was born in 1931 to Marvin Milton and Wilma Williams Buttram at their home in Esom Hill. She grew up in Polk County and attended Cedartown High School. Floy married at a young age and went on to have one child, Bruce Vice, and two grandchildren, Ronnie and Kay.

Floy had a fun spirit and a welcoming smile for everyone. She was always up for company and willing to join in any endeavor that was afoot. She loved caring for her family and making them happy, made her happy. She was a great storyteller, regaling all with reminisces of her childhood. She got a special gleam in her eye when she would speak of her and her twin brother's exploits as children.

She is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Pam Vice, niece Judi Petty, as well as her siblings, Heyward Buttram, Evelyn Buttram Taylor and Red (Roy Earl) Buttram. She is survived by her son and grandchildren, nieces; Sarah, Linda, Bridget, Pam, Sharon and Ginger; nephews, Tony, Tim, Kent and Scott.

We will miss Floy dearly, but are grateful for the time we had to spend with her. We will always feel her presence in our hearts.
