Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Franklin D. "Frank" Kenerly, who entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 16, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born on July 31, 1946, in Carrollton, Georgia, Frank was a man of unwavering faith, quiet strength, and deep devotion to his family. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he honorably served his country during the Vietnam era, answering the call to duty with courage and dedication. His military service remained a source of pride throughout his life and reflected the character, discipline, and patriotism that defined him.

Most importantly, Frank loved the Lord. He was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where his faith guided his life and served as an example to those around him. He found comfort in God's Word, enjoyed reading, and lived with the assurance of his salvation.

Frank spent many years working as a technician, including service with Western Union Telegraph Company, from where he retired, and Sony Music, where he spent 14 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to providing for his family.

Outside of work, Frank found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He loved spending time at the family farm, working on his tractor and caring for the land he loved. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, and he especially treasured the time spent with his sons and grandsons making memories together. He also enjoyed spending time with friends playing pool at the Carrollton Sr. Center. Whether he was outdoors, enjoying fellowship with others, or gathered with family, Frank appreciated life's simple blessings. Most of all, he loved the Lord and his family, and nothing meant more to him than the people he held dear.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Kenerly and Nettie Lambert Kenerly; and his brother, Charles Kenerly.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Peggy Breed Kenerly; his sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Penny Kenerly and Matt and Catrice Kenerly; his grandchildren, Cody Kenerly and his wife, Jessica, Carter Kenerly, Carson Culverhouse and his wife, Bri, and Ashton Farrenkopf; his nephew, Scott Kenerly and his wife, Suzann; along with many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know him.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Rev. Wally Dedman and Rev. Mary Lou Grimmett officiating. Interment will follow at Carroll Memory Gardens, with Bro. Gary Brown officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army in recognition of Frank's faithful service to his country.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
