Geneva Goolsby King of King Street, Waco, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 in a local nursing facility following an extended illness. She was born in Haralson County, May 4, 1923, daughter of the late Leon G. Goolsby and Leoma Dewberry Goolsby. Mrs. King was a member of the Waco Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Doyl King, Sr.; a daughter,Carolyn Simpson; grandson, Russell Finley; sisters, Gola Smith and Gladys Jackson. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law; Doyl (Junior) and Glenda King of Waco; grandchildren and spouses; Daphni and Barry Lewis, Bremen, Stephani and Bradley Feirn, Bremen, Courtenai Finley of Tallapoosa, Tracy King, Bremen, Torry and Beth King of Waco; twelve great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Services will be Wednesday, September 8 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Hatchett and Bro. Johnie Carden officiating. Todd King, Joey Wagoner, Bradley Feirn, Tracy King, Kerry Davis and Torry King will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Sara Feirn, Taylor King, Jerry Gossage and Dillard McIntosh. Interment will follow in Waco Cemetery.
