Mrs. Geneva Pate, 86, of Claire Dr., Carrollton, Ga., passed away Monday, June 2, 2008. She was born September 15, 1921 in Paulding County, Georgia to the late Cassie Holland Carnes and James Calvin Carnes. Mrs. Pate was a homemaker and member of Mt. Pleasant Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Lamar Pate and a daughter, Jane Huff. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Ron & Sandra Pate of Whitesburg, Melanie Caldwell of Newnan, Beverly Jones of Douglasville and Mira & Tom Kelly of Frazier, MI.; also several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Bro. Doug New and Rev. Jimmy Henry officiating. In accordance with the family's wishes, the body was cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 301 Kelly Dr. Ste., 3, Peachtree City, Ga., 30269.
