Mr. Gerald "DOC" Bentley, 75 of Buchanan passed away suddenly on June 24, 2020 in a local healthcare facility. Doc was born on December 19, 1944 in Buchanan, Georgia the son of the late Paul Jefferson Bentley and Gaynell Wells Bentley. He was employed with Haralson County in the maintenance department for forty-nine years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Bentley and Terry Bentley. Survivors include brothers, James Paul Bentley and B.L. Bentley, both of Buchanan. The family will receive friends at Hightower Funeral Home on Saturday, June 27, 2020 between 10 am and 11 am. Funeral Services will follow at 11 am from our Chapel with Reverend Richard Brannon officiating. Mike Bentley, Ben Bentley, Wesley Bell, Cason Bentley, Edward Pollard, Clay Bell and Jason Singleton will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery. Services will be held in accordance with CDC guidelines regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic. Guests should practice social distancing to reduce exposure and transmission to our families and our community.
