Gloria Jean "Mize"
Kimball
Nov 4, 1939 — Jul 11, 2025
Mrs. Gloria Jean "Mize" Kimball, age 85, of Bremen, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 11, 2025, following an extended illness.
Born in Tallapoosa, Georgia, on November 4, 1939, Jean was the daughter of the late Harold and Vera Mize. She was a lifelong woman of faith and a member of Tallapoosa East Baptist Church, and in recent years, found fellowship attending Peachtree Baptist Church alongside a cherished friend.
Jean was a talented and dedicated beautician who owned and operated her own business, "Jean's Beauty Salon," for over 50 years. Through her work, she touched countless lives, becoming known for giving generations of local children their first haircuts.
Jean was devoted to her family—a loving wife, a caring mother, and a doting "Mawmaw" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Despite her dislike for the sun and heat, she could often be found in the stands, faithfully cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their sporting events.
To many, Jean will be remembered for her impeccable style, her beloved jewelry, her radiant smile, her sharp sense of humor, and her signature red lipstick. Wherever she went, people recognized her as one of the "Mize girls," and her presence could truly light up any room.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Waymon Kimball; her son, Mike Kimball; her nephew, Brandon Mize; and an infant brother.
She is survived by her children, Sherry Kimball and Kenny Kimball; sisters, Judy Carroll (Donald) and Joan Boalch (Bobby); brothers, Johnny Mize and Jimmy Mize (Alicia); grandchildren, Amy Pointer (Nolan), Davy Addison (Neeley), Cory Carter, Dr. Allison Key (David), Barrett Kimball (Emily), Haven Morgan (Adam), and Alex Markey (Gareth); 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mr. Jerome McDowell and Jana McClure.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until service time.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Amy Pointer and Donald Carroll officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Davy Addison, Cory Carter, Barrett Kimball, Barry Boalch, Ty Folds, and Laura Boalch.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Allison Key officiating.
Mrs. Jean's legacy of love, laughter, and beauty will live on in all who knew and loved her.
