Henry Wallace Slaton, 76, of Douglasville, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025. He was born in Laurens, South Carolina, on March 12, 1949, to the late William Grady Slaton Jr. and the late Elizabeth Louise Barkley Slaton.

A faithful member of Crossroads Church in Douglasville, Henry found joy in the simple pleasure of fishing, but the love he shared with his family was his greatest legacy.

He is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Linda Whatley Slaton; his loving daughters, Shannon Smith and her husband Benjamin, and Mary Slaton. Henry's memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Savannah Chaddrick and Alexander Slaton, and his great-grandchildren, Ellie, Colson, and Lily McCoy. He is also survived by his sister, Lois Childress.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Hightower's Memorial Chapel in Douglasville.

The funeral service to honor Henry's life will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home, with Pastor Brandon Penneman officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Smith, Dylan Chaddrick, Alexander Slaton, Steve Childress, Jason Childress, and Jake Mims.

Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
