Jack Mitchell Carr, Jr., age 81, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was retired from the City of Atlanta Wastewater and Douglas County Wastewater. He worked in this field from 1966 – 2011. He was the son of the late Jack Mitchell Carr, Sr. and the late Mary Smith Whitt.

Jack is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Radford Carr; son, Mark Carr (Ethel); son, Randall Carr (Suzie); daughter, Sheila McPherson (Sean); 4 grandchildren, Trenton Carr (Celeste), Joshalynn Doty (Sam), Keith Carr (Kaytlin), Larry Carr (Morgan); seven great-grandchildren, Alexander, Matthias, Bryden, Colesen, Addison, Rihlie, and Iris; sister, Cindy Cowart (David); brother, Lloyd Carr; stepbrother, Woodrow Whitt (Dora); stepparent, Rhoda Carr; sister-in-law, Ruby Radford Price.

We would like to thank my dads very special care team: Maggie Angelet, Karen Carlisle, and Sharon Patton with Better Off at Home Care, and his nurses, Chris, Laurie and Tammy at Agape Hospice of Villa Rica.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Hightower's Memorial Chapel in Douglasville. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Randall Sidney Carr officiating.

Interment will be at Bright Star Cemetery.
