James Terry Gamel, age 82, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on June 13, 2024. He was born in Dallas, Georgia on February 25, 1942, son of the late J.T. Gamel and the late Alma Bulloch Gamel. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Lithia Springs First Baptist Church, where he attended in the Good Ole Boys Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his wife: Joan Elizabeth Cohran Gamel; son: Michael Gamel (Ashley); granddaughter: Bailey Gamel; brothers-in-law: Earl Allen, Joe Belflower.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Max Gamel, Wendell Gamel; sisters: Virginia Allen, Sarah Belflower.

The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with  Tony Godfrey, and Dan Harrison officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Garden.
