James Edward McMichen Sr, age 94, of Toccoa, Georgia, passed away on April 27, 2025. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 7, 1930, son of the late Zollie McMichen and the late Margaret Rowe McMichen. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of both the United States Navy of 3 years and the United States Air Force of 33 years.

He is survived by his children: Teresa McMichen House; the mother of his children: Lydia Bruce; granddaughter: Emily Wilye and her husband Brandon; great-grandchildren: Chase Lytle, Madeline "Maddie" Wellam.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: James Edward McMichen, Jr; daughter: Ginger Wellam; granddaughter: Pamela Wellam,

The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bryan Alexander officiating.

Interment will follow at Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
