Janice C
Jordan
Nov 30, 1943 — Oct 20, 2025
Janice C. Jordan, age 81, of Franklin, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025. She was born on November 30, 1943, in Ephesus, Georgia, the daughter of the late J.B. Cunningham and Thelma Fincher Cunningham.
Janice graduated from Carrollton High School and went on to build a life centered around faith, family, and hard work. She was the proud owner and operator of Jordan's BBQ for 25 years, where her talent in the kitchen and her hospitality made countless friends feel like family.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Janice was a true family woman whose quiet strength and loving spirit shaped those around her. She was gentle and reserved, but her presence filled every room with warmth and steadiness. She loved spending time at home, reading a good book, working on a jigsaw puzzle, or tending to household projects. Janice was also an outstanding cook who poured love into every meal she made.
She had a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed cheering on her favorite teams the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons. Above all, Janice loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Ephesus Baptist Church, where her faith was both personal and steadfast.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Dennis Jordan; her sister, Nadine Bednar; and her brothers, Hal Cunningham and Hershel Cunningham.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law, Denice & Darrell Hicks of Franklin, Georgia; her son and daughter-in-law, Trevor & Lexanne Jordan of Talking Rock, Georgia; her sister, Donna Thompson; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen & Linda Cunningham and Bill & Jo Cunningham. Janice will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Blair & Brandon Allen, Cale & Crysti Long, Seth & Lindsey Hicks, Gabriel & Courtney Carrillo, Blake & Dayna Hicks, Joe & Hannah Jordan, Isabelle Jordan, and Lily Jordan; as well as to her 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Janice's life will be held at her home on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., at 1739 Antioch Road, Franklin, Georgia 30217.
To honor her love for her church, home, and community, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Ephesus Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 243, Franklin, GA 30217, or that a tree be planted in her memory as a living tribute to her life.
Messages of condolence may be shared with the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Jordan family during this time of remembrance.
