Jean R. Self, 80 of Tallapoosa passed away on December 16, 2024 in a local healthcare facility.

She was born on August 19, 1944 in Bremen, Georgia, the daughter of the late Hubert Rainey and Louise Davis Rainey.

Jean was a Member of First Baptist Church of Tallapoosa and formerly employed with Sewell Manufacturing Company.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Scott Self.

Survivors include her children, Laurie Self-Hutcheson and Leigh Anne Thomas, both of Temple; grandchildren, Grayson Scott Self, Ashley Butterick (Marcus), Loren Stone and Robert Stone; great-grandchildren, Ashton Samples, Mason Butterick, Jasper Butterick and Oaklynn Butterick.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 11:30-12:30 pm at Hightower Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be conducted on December 21, 2024 at 1pm from Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Sam Self Officiating. Marcus Butterick, Grayson Self, Caleb Cason, Ken Williams, Jim Stone and Robert Stone will serve as pallbearers.
