Jean Bishop Stanford, age 96, of Gainesville, formerly of Bremen, passed away on December 24, 2025, at her residence in Gainesville. She was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on September 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Samuel Bishop and Flonnie Daniels Bishop. She was Baptist by faith.

Mrs. Stanford simply loved and adored her grandchildren, and she was passionate about gardening and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Homer Leon Stanford; and her sons, Edward Leon Stanford and Thomas Jeffery Stanford; and a sister, Joan Culbreth.

Survivors include her children, Sam Stanford (Mary) of Gainesville and Dr. Janet Stanford (Chris Kirk) of Seattle, Washington; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Jacob Stewart officiating.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
