Mrs. Jeanne Lankford Smith, age 66 of Temple, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017. She was born May 16, 1951 in Carroll County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Thomas Ellis Lankford and the late Agnes Bridges Lankford. She was a homemaker and a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Veronica Butler, Survivors include her husband, James A. Smith of Temple; son, Thomas Bryan Smith of Carrollton; son-in-law, Alan Butler of Douglasville; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn & Clark Winkles of Carrollton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Jerry and Teresa Denney of Saluda, South Carolina, Russell and Susan Denney of Flower Mount, Texas, Bobbie Coburn of Grand Cane, Louisiana; sisters-in-law, Emma Jo Rees of Mansfield, Louisiana and Bonnie Hargus, also of Mansfield, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Charles Smith of Converse, Louisiana; nephew and niece, David & Vanessa Winkles, of Dunedin, Florida; nephews: Thomas Denney of New York, Mitch & Alana Denney of Saluda, South Carolina; and nieces: Nicole & Ashley Denney of Flower Mound, Texas, and Sharon Barnett of Natchitoches, Louisiana; a special cousin, Marie Eason. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 3:00 PM from West Georgia Worship Center in Buchanan, Georgia, with Rev. Ricky Shirley and Rev. Jerry Denney officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
