Jennifer Queen
Taylor
Apr 16, 1980 — Apr 5, 2026
Jennifer Queen Taylor passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5th, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones after an extended hospitalization. Though short in physical stature, her spirit was gigantic, loving, generous, and indomitable to her last breath. Her kindness, selflessness, feistiness and a strong faith in God were traits that endeared her to all that knew her. Jenn was born in Gaffney, South Carolina and grew up in the Corinth community. She is the daughter of William Darrell Queen and Rebecca Queen. She is the granddaughter of the late Willie Queen and Eloise Queen as well as the late Donald Lester, Sr. She is survived by her grandmother, Susan Cooper. She graduated from Gaffney High School and later received a degree in education from USC Upstate. She married her high school sweetheart, Joshua Taylor, in 2003 and they began a life together in metro Atlanta. Jenn would say that her husband was a heaping helping of stubbornness, with the capability of annoying her to her wits end and yet could make her laugh at will and that he strived to make her happy. Josh would say that they complimented one another perfectly, like peas and carrots. The blissful couple welcomed a son, Gabriel Taylor, in 2007 and their family was whole. Motherhood was Jenn's passion and her son was her world. Jenn made teaching her career and served as a K-5 schoolteacher at Evoline C. West Elementary in Fairburn, Georgia for 16 years. Upon leaving the classroom, Jennifer began a tutoring business where she continued educating numerous kids for over 7 years. Teaching and helping her students reach their potential gave Jenn great satisfaction. In addition to her already noted family members, Jenn is survived by her brother Robert Queen and his wife Ashlyn Queen. Her brother gave Jenn three nieces that she loved and adored, Madison Queen, Mila Queen and Hallie Queen. Additionally, Jenn is survived by several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins that she loved and valued.
Jennifer will have two celebrations of life services. The first service will be held at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church in Douglasville, Georgia on Sunday, April 19 at 2pm. The second service will be held at Overbrook Presbyterian Church in Gaffney, South Carolina on Saturday, May 9 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jennifer's memory to the American Lung Association at lung.org.
