Mr. Jerry Thomas Hobbs of Bremen passed away on February 3, 2020 at a local health care facility. He was born in Concord, North Carolina on January 27, 1939, son of the late Beryl Roscoe Hobbs and Allie Mae Smith Hobbs. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hobbs was preceded in death by his son, David Hobbs. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carrie Lee Johnson Hobbs, daughter, Shannon Lynn Hobbs of Austin, Texas and grandchildren, Jenna and Michael Stamps of Temple, Kera Hesler of Bremen, Rebecca Maxwell of Canton, Arlee Anna Maxwell of Canton, Dillard Maxwell of Carrollton, Jamie Maxwell of Carrollton, Bryson Hobbs of Bremen, Delaney Hobbs of Carrollton and six great grandchildren, Coy Maxwell, Landon King, Billie Kate Hesler, Piper Stamps, Darcy Stamps and Mercy Summerville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. Services will be Friday, February 7, 2020 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Morris and Reverend Jimmy Bryan officiating. Sonny Armstrong, Ralph Parrish, Lawrence Parrish, Dennis Norman, James Stamps, Cary Ingraham, Kirk Hopkins, Ricky Cole, and Jeff Ploof will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Center Point United Methodist Church.
