Mrs. Jessie "Jewell" Thompson, 89 of Chestnut Street, Bremen passed away October 1, 2007 in a local hospital. Mrs. Thompson was born on September 7, 1918 in Murray County, Georgia the daughter of the late Thomas Jesse Lyles and Maud Stevens Lyles. A homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Bremen. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Thompson. Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Judy & Ken Abbott of Valley, AL and Ann & Rob Harden of Reno, NV; sister, Ruby l. Gepperth of Newnan; sisters in law Lucille & John Bollen and Opal Thompson all of Bremen; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 4, 2007 between the hours of 5 & 8 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, October 5, 2007 at 11 am from The First Baptist Church of Bremen with Brother Herman Parker, Dr. Bill Clinton and Reverend Johnie Carden officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Sue Ezzell and Mr. Walter Kirk. Ty Harden, Frank Horton, Ed Garner, Steve Scarbrough, Johnny Bolden and Greg Abbott will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Bremen City Cemetery.
