Joan Antonio González, age 17, of Paulding County, passed away on March 23, 2026. Joan was born on January 6, 2009, in San Diego, California, to his loving parents, Antonio Cesar González Vasquez and Monica Lucia Guevara Quiñonez.

Joan was a bright, driven, and compassionate young man who truly stood out among his peers. A top student at Paulding County High School, he was actively involved in Beta Club, Model United Nations, Advanced Choir, and HOSA Future Health Professionals. Born prematurely, Joan carried a deep passion for helping others and dreamed of one day becoming a NICU doctor, inspired by his own beginning in life.

He is survived by his parents, Monica Lucia Guevara Quiñonez (Jeff Richards, Jr.) and Antonio Cesar González Vasquez (Carolina Malagón); his brother, Cesar Antonio González; and his close circle of brothers, sister, and friends, Sebastián Atakoglu, Aiden Atakoglu, Jaxson Richards, Brian González, Sebastián Gómez, Brandon Sanchez, and Rylynn Richards. He is also survived by his grandparents, Maria E. Quiñonez, Luis E. Ramos, Cesario González, and Milbia Vasquez; his aunt, Glenda M. Atakoglu; and his uncle, Luis K. Ramos.

Joan is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jose Antonio Guevara Catalan, and his great-grandparents, Josefina Quiñonez and Jose Virgilio Quiñonez.

Joan will be remembered for his kind heart, his determination, and the way he made those around him better. His future was incredibly bright, and his impact, though far too short, will never be forgotten.

A service to celebrate Joan's life will be held from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home on Saturday, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Mr. Jeff Richards, Sr. officiating.
