Joanne Fields, age 80, of Winston passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014. She was born in Douglas County on May 29, 1933. Joanne retired after working 17 years at Sheltering Arms Childcare and 10 years in Food Service at the Douglas County Board of Education. She was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ruth Willoughby Lee. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Thurman Fields of Winston; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Jerry Kelley of Marietta, Tonya and Alan Mayo of Winston; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Debra Fields of Douglasville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Hoke Smith of Cedartown, Judy and Lee Pearson of Fairhope, Alabama; brother and sister-in-law, Burt and Jean Lee of Gainesville; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer and Kenny Whitworth, Destiny Kelley, Katie and Tim Plumley, Joel Fields, Ryan and Christi Mayo, Beth Mayo; 6 Great-Grandchildren, Avery Whitworth, Brayden Whitworth, Maura Plumley, Noah Plumley, Bryson Holman, Ryleigh Mayo. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm from Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Dr. Billy Godwin and Reverend Mike Mallory officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 4:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Cold Springs Cemetery, Winston, Georgia.
