John Patrick "Pat"
Armstrong
Jun 27, 1953 — Dec 10, 2024
John Patrick "Pat" Armstrong passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 in Bremen, Georgia. He was a loving and loved husband, daddy, grandfather ("Pa"), brother, uncle, and friend. He was born June 27, 1953 in Carrollton, Georgia to Glen Oliver Armstrong and Rachel Armstrong.
He was a very hard worker from the time he was a young child until the day he died. The day after his high school graduation, he drove to California to work. Later, he went out to Colorado logging. He worked at Southwire, CBS Records, TransPak, Fulton Paper, and Atlantic Packaging, where he retired in 2018. He was a packaging engineer and could fix anything. He traveled all over North America working. He rented pastures and cut tons of hay all over West Georgia. He loved all things related to tractors and heavy equipment.
His family had chicken houses as a kid, and he worked those as both a child and an adult. After not having chickens for decades, he built five pullet houses on his family farm. He later purchased his brother-in-law's chicken farm in Clem. For a while, he worked both farms. At the time of death, he continued to work daily at the five houses on his farm. He also had cattle most of his life. Throughout his life, he had various animals including horses, donkeys, goats, rabbits, pigs, dogs and cats. He also enjoyed planting gardens and fruit trees and cooking all kinds of delicious items.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry and James Armstrong.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Armstrong; children, Candace (Nathaniel) Jones, Ashley (Adam) Almon, Kalob Armstrong; grandchildren, Camden and Carter Jones, Madilyn and Magnolia Almon; sister, Laura Armstrong and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was loved immensely by his family, and he loved them the same. He had a great sense of humor and could always come up with a quick line in response to anything.
The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. The funeral will be held from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will include Kalob Armstrong, Nathaniel Jones, Adam Almon, Hal Knott, Thomas Knott, Jon McCorsley, and Vic Bracknell.
