Mr. John Thomas Godwin, age 70, of Bremen, passed away on April 16, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 27, 1953, in Cedartown, the son of the late Thomas Wyatt Godwin and Evelyn McKibben Godwin. He was a retired insurance agent with American General and a member of Covenant Life Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Kim Overby Godwin; children, Ashleigh Godwin of Temple, Josh Godwin (Crystal) of Bremen, and Cyndi Godwin Franklin (Jeremy) of Temple; a sister, Mary Ann Smith (Ronnie) of Bremen; and five grandchildren, Jared Godwin, Bella Godwin, Conor Godwin, Sully Clifton and April Franklin.

The family will accept friends on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 3:00 pm from the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Bro. John Butler officiating and Josh Godwin delivering the eulogy.

Inurnment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
