John Milton Jones, age 81 of Carrollton, passed away April 14, 2020. He was born September 1, 1938 in East Point, Georgia, son of the late George Daniel Jones and Mamie Ione Kierbow Jones. He graduated Georgia Tech in 1960 with a Bachelors Degree and proudly served in the Georgia National Guard for seven years. He worked in interior construction for QUA-SER for more than 30 years and served as deacon at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Parker. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Coombs Jones of Carrollton; his children, Joy Lynn Jones and husband, Dr. Ricky Hurst of Emporia, Virginia, Glen Alan Jones of Douglasville, and Neil Leigh Jones of Atlanta; sister, Sarah Johnson of West Virginia; three grandchildren, Nathan Hurst, Samuel Hurst, and Jeremiah Hurst; and five great grandchildren, Thomas Hurst, Gabriel Hurst, Luke Hurst, Booker Hurst and Zoe Hurst. Graveside service will be conducted Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Friday, April 17, 2020 at 3:00 PM with Dr. Ricky Hurst officiating.
