Mr. Joseph Winford Henderson, age 71, of Washington St., Bowdon, Ga., passed away Friday, April 17, 2009. He was born January 21, 1938 in Carroll County, Georgia the son of the late, Joseph J. Henderson and Sally Cantrell Henderson. Mr. Henderson served his country in the U.S. Navy, a carpenter by profession and a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Kilgore Henderson; brothers, Jimmy Henderson, Billy Henderson and Milton Henderson. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Kathy & Tom Lepard of Bowdon and Jeff & Lisa Henderson of Carrollton; sisters and brothers in law, Janice & Gary Williams of Alabama and Linda & Bill Lepard of Bowdon; brothers and sister in law, Bobby Henderson and Danny & Linda Dale Henderson all of Carrollton; also 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 2 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Anthony Puckett and Mr. Bill Tribble officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve King, Marty Robinson, Skip Harman, Scott Henderson, B.J. Henderson and Kevin Lepard. Honorary pallbearers will be Mickey Sikes, Ricky Huddleston and Joey Patrick.
