With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived, we share the passing of Juanelle Ramey Edwards, who went home peacefully on December 22, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by the family she so dearly loved. Born on December 28, 1946, in LaFayette, Georgia, Juanelle lived a life defined by devotion to her faith, her family, and the countless children whose lives she shaped through education.

For 30 years, Juanelle served as a dedicated teacher at Central Elementary School, where her gentle spirit, patience, and genuine care left a lasting imprint on generations of students. Teaching was never just a career for her; it was a calling, and she approached each child with encouragement, kindness, and a steady belief in their potential.

Above all else, Juanelle was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy came from her family, and her legacy lives on through her children and their spouses: Scott and Heather Edwards, Lorrie and Michael Callen, and Jennifer and Shane Hulsey. Her grandchildren, Ansleigh Edwards, Jackson Edwards, Logan Callen, Ashton Hulsey, and Shana Hulsey, were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent watching them grow, learn, and thrive. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Jackie Ramey and Steve and Kay Ramey, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and love.

Juanelle had a creative and thoughtful spirit. She enjoyed hand-stitching intricate designs, crafting beautiful ornaments, and collecting seashells during treasured family trips to the beach. An avid reader, she loved getting lost in a good book, finding comfort, adventure, and inspiration within its pages.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis Jackson Edwards, and her parents, Grady and Dorothy Ramey. While her family deeply feels her absence, they take comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she loved and rests in eternal peace.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Juanelle's life. Visitation will be held on December 27, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Carroll Memory Gardens, with Dr. Keith Berry officiating.
