Julia Lavone Cantrell, age 88, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, February 2, 2026. She was born on November 29, 1937, in Canton, Georgia, daughter of the late Thurman Patrick Collett and the late Grace Gramling Collett. Julia was a homemaker and she was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Hugh Daniel Cantrell, Jr.; children, Terry West, Tim West (Kelley), Amanda Thomas (Rusty); grandchildren, Trevor West (Lauren), Taylor West, Travis West, Reyna Sprinkle (Hayden), Wyatt Thomas; great-grandchildren, Luke West, Lily West, Cora-Leigh Samples, Bennett Sprinkle, Harrison Sprinkle.

In addition to her parents, Julia was also preceded in death by her son, Toby West; daughter, Julie Cantrell.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Hightower's Memorial Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Terry Pearman officiating. Trevor, Rusty, Travis, Hayden and Wyatt will be serving as pallbearers.

Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Garden.
