Julius "Joe" Ceasar Hiers, 73, of Roopville, Georgia, passed away on January 27, 2025. He was born on June 6, 1951, in Jesup, Georgia, the son of the late Ralph Hiers and Juanita Irene Hill Hiers.

His love for gospel music was a defining aspect of his life; he joyfully sang with various gospel groups, sharing his passion and uplifting spirits through heartfelt performances. Joe was not only a skilled professional but also a devoted husband, nurturing father, and adoring grandfather. His warm presence, wise guidance, and unwavering support made a lasting impact on those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all fortunate enough to have him in their lives.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Melony Phillips; son, Jonathan Hiers of Forsyth, Georgia; daughter, Jessica Freeman and her husband, Kevin, of Luverne, Alabama; brother, Thomas Hiers of Newnan, Georgia; grandchildren, Tyler Hiers, Brenley Hiers, Blossom Hiers, Desiree Bryant and her husband, Cory, Keagan Phillips, Seryna Phillips, Kevin Freeman, and Kylem Freeman; and great-grandchildren, Kari Hiers, Luna Hiers, Blisselyn Hiers, Ryles Bryant, and Hadley Kate Bryant.
