Kathleen Goldin
Smith
Nov 12, 1932 — Dec 30, 2024
Kathleen Goldin Smith, age 92, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024. Born on November 12, 1932, in the charming town of Bremen, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Pearl Dean Goldin and Thomas Watson Goldin.
With a dedicated spirit, Mrs. Smith served as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Tanner Medical Center for 37 years, providing compassionate care and support to countless patients throughout her career. Her commitment to her work and community was matched only by her devotion to her faith as a longtime New Hope Methodist Church member, where she found comfort and connection.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William "Bill" Smith, who stood by her side through many chapters of their lives together.
She leaves behind a loving family that includes her daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Teresa Smith, Susan and Dale Ramsey, and her cherished sister, Clara McLain. Kathleen's legacy continues through her grandchildren—Russ and Alison Crawford, Samuel Horsley, Carrie and Michael Turner, and Sarah and Chris Stephens—and her seven great-grandchildren, who carry her spirit and love in their hearts.
A memorial service will honor and celebrate Kathleen's life on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with her grandson, Russ Crawford, and niece, Rev. Joy Griffin, officiating. Mrs. Kathleen's former coworkers at Tanner Medical Center will be seated as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
