Kerry Andrew Barras, Sr., age 72, of Douglasville, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026. He was born in Chalmette, Louisiana on March 16, 1954, son of the late Erne Barras and the late Jacqueline Blanchard Barras. Kerry was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from AT&T with 47 years of service as a Tele-Communication Engineer.

Kerry is survived by his wife, Angela Marks Barras; daughter, Stephanie Marks Adams (Michael); son, Kerry Barras, Jr. (Jessica); grandchildren, Tiphanie Mote (Chaz), Dakota Holt (Maggie), Caleb Barras, Brandon Barras; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Mote, Cole Mote, Charlie Mote, Dawson Holt; sisters, Donna Stander (Bobby), Lois Benoit; brother, Jay Barras (Trish).

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Hightower's Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 in the chapel of the funeral home. Steve Marks, Frank Cox, Chaz Mote, Dakota Holt, Michael Adams and Chandler Barras will be serving as pall bearers.

Interment will be at Indian Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Bowdon, Georgia.
