Obituary

Lillian Annette Pickens, born on November 13, 1934, in Chattahoochee, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 90 years old.

Lillian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Pickens, and her cherished parents, James Auldon and Cora Olivia Chadwick Ellis.

She is survived by her children, who were the light of her life: her son Tony Pickens of Conyers, GA; her daughter Deborah Barnett (David Barnett) of Powder Springs, GA; her daughter Phyllis Slate (Barney Liebman) of Canton, GA; and her son Terry Pickens (Amy Pickens) of Conyers, GA. Lillian was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and great-grandmother to 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Lillian was a devoted servant of the Lord, dedicating her life to faith, family, and service. A longtime member of Corinth Baptist Church, she served her church community with unwavering love and commitment. She played a key role in founding and operating the church's clothes closet, a ministry that provided clothing and hope to those in need. Her deep faith and love for the Lord were the guiding forces in her life, and she shared that love generously with everyone she encountered.

Lillian will be remembered for her warm smile, her selfless spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel seen, valued, and loved. She found joy in serving others and lived her life as a reflection of her unwavering faith and love for Christ. Her legacy of compassion and service will continue to inspire her family and community for generations to come.

A celebration of Lillian's life will be held on January 5, 2025 at Corinth Baptist Church with Reverend John Lemmings officiating at 2:00 pm, with visitation from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Hightower Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Corinth Baptist Church Clothes Closet Ministry or Alzheimer's Association at ACT.ALZ.ORG,

in honor of her lifelong commitment to serving others.

Her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Jack and her parents in eternal peace, basking in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

"And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." – 1 Corinthians 13:13
