Linda lived a life beautifully devoted to her faith, her family, and the simple blessings of home.

Mrs. Linda Lee Johnson Truett, age 83, of Bowdon, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Born on March 28, 1943, in Carrollton, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Sidney W. Johnson and Mary Blackwelder Johnson. Linda lived a life beautifully devoted to her faith, her family, and the simple blessings of home.

On July 5, 1963, Linda married the love of her life, Donnie Truett, beginning a beautiful journey of love, companionship, and unwavering devotion. Together, they built a life centered on faith and family, celebrating 63 wonderful years of marriage this past July. Linda was a loving and devoted wife who took great pride in caring for her husband and the home they shared. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, faithfulness, and the promises they made to one another so many years ago.

A devoted homemaker, Linda found her greatest joy and purpose in caring for those she loved. She was a wonderful mother whose love, encouragement, and steady presence helped shape the lives of her children and grandchildren. As her family grew, so did the joy in her heart. She was an especially proud and loving grandmother, cherishing the time spent with her grandchildren and delighting in the blessing of becoming a great-grandmother. To Linda, family was among God's greatest gifts, and she treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by those she held dear.

Above all, Linda was a woman of deep and abiding Christian faith. A member of Bowdon Church of Christ, she enjoyed a close and personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was not simply something she professed, but something she lived each day through her love, kindness, and devotion to others. As a Bible School teacher, she faithfully shared God's Word, helping plant seeds of faith in the hearts of those she taught. Her life reflected the love of Christ, and she leaves behind a beautiful example of what it means to walk faithfully with the Lord.

Linda's legacy will be found not only in the many years she was blessed to share with her family, but also in the countless ways she made those years meaningful. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her husband, her unwavering love for her children and grandchildren, and the steadfast faith that guided her throughout her life. Though her family will miss her dearly, they find comfort in the precious memories she leaves behind and in the blessed assurance of her eternal home with her Savior.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt and uncle, Clarence and Nellie Blackwelder; and her cousin, Jackie Blackwelder.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 63 years, Donnie W. Truett; her sons and daughters-in-law, Kerry and Tina Truett, Jay and Rebekah Truett; her grandchildren, Tyler and Laura Truett, Nicole and James Swanger, Sydney and Blake Thomas, Haley and Jacob Henderson; her great-grandson, Jackson Swanger; her sister-in-law; one niece; two nephews; and many other extended family members and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
