Lisa E. Fabio was born on November 6, 1966 in Brooklyn, NY to Jimmie W. Davis, Jr. and "Tina" Davis. She made her entrance into the world with a head full of curly black hair and has been a sensational presence ever since. Lisa grew up in the Long Island suburban town of North Babylon, she graduated high school there in 1984. Lisa is known for her absolute adoration for children. As a young woman she was always on the go but always made time for the children in her neighborhood. When Lisa drove up the street and pulled into her driveway the children on the block would swarm to her car and crowd around the car door before she could even open it, not because she had candy, or toys, she only gave them love and attention, she made them laugh, she comforted them, she made everyone of them feel special. It was because of her love of children that she began a life long career in baking. One of her favorite pint sized pals had a birthday and Lisa was determined to bake her a cake. Her first baking attempt tilted on a kitchen plate and was not too impressive, no one even remembers if it was eaten. But baking that first cake ignited a passion in Lisa that would form a career and years later lead to a business that would become her life's work. Prior to baking that first cake, Lisa had one other passion that she pursued, that was to be a conductor on the Long Island Rail Road. She launched a spirited campaign to get Human Resources to notice her, she took a plate and glued it to a board with a fork and knife and wrote, "I want this job so bad I can taste it," then dutifully mailed in one resume a week till they gave her and interview. It was while she worked there that she met and fell in love with a fellow conductor, Curtis Fabio, they married in November of 1994. After being blessed with two beautiful children, daughter, Teresa Victoria and son, Leslie Kent, Lisa decided to parlay her passion for baking into a new career. She enrolled in culinary school full time and worked her way up the ladder, her very first job was decorating cakes at a supermarket. It was always her desire to open up her own business and after years of working for others and honing her skills, God blessed her to be able to open The Sweet Teresa Dessert Shop in Douglasville, GA, she remained in business for 8 years. Lisa was always a fun person to be around, she always had a great story to tell and had all the theatrics to go with it. She had more passion for life and living than most anyone around her and anything you did with her you were going to have a good time. But Lisa wasn't just about having a good time, she wanted to make people feel good, it was her joy to cheer people up. She was very smart, had a very sharp mind and always remembered people; names, faces and places were never at a loss to her and everyone she encountered in life meant something to her. Lisa's love for people does not out do her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who called her home to be with Him for all eternity on Sunday, September 12, 2010. We grieve because we love, we love because we gain something we can never lose. Survivors include her husband, Curtis H.
