Obituary

Louis Enrique Pabon, age 81, of Whitesburg, Georgia, passed away on August 26, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 9, 1944, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

Mr. Pabon was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. His military service was an important part of his life and came with great personal sacrifice. As a result of his exposure to Agent Orange during his service in Vietnam, he was a 100% disabled veteran. He carried the lasting effects of that service throughout his life, and his family remained deeply proud of the commitment and sacrifice he made for his country.

Following his military service, Louis built a long and dedicated career as a building maintenance supervisor with C.A.R.E., where he worked for more than 30 years. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed staying busy and working with his hands. Woodworking was one of his favorite pastimes, and he also enjoyed collecting and had a lifelong love of cars.

Louis was happiest outdoors. Whether he was fishing, camping, working around the yard, or simply cutting the grass, he enjoyed being outside and taking in the world around him. He found satisfaction in a good day's work, a project that kept his hands busy, and the simple pleasures of time spent in the fresh air.

He shared 58 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Miriam Santana Pabon, before her passing on January 31, 2021. Together, Louis and Miriam built a life centered around their family and created a legacy that continues through their children, grandchildren, and those who loved them.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda & Michael Jenkins and Melissa & Darren Rice; his sister, Ana Lopez; his brothers, William Pabon, Rafael Pabon, and Marin Pabon; his grandchildren, Bobby Vega, Ashley Jackson, Jacob Rice, Justin Rice, Jaclyn Pabon, Devin Pabon, Harlow Rice, Jacoby Vega, Delilah Rice, Lydia Jackson, and Declan Rice; along with other family members and friends who will remember his strength, determination, and devotion to those he loved.

A funeral service honoring the life of Mr. Louis Enrique Pabon will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Funeral Home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at West Georgia Memorial Park, with military honors in recognition of his honorable and sacrificial service to the United States of America. Bobby Vega, Jacoby Vega, Michael Jenkins, Devin Pabon, Jacob Rice, Justin Rice, and Darren Rice will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM.
