Margie Nell Lee
Dietz
Oct 1, 1935 — Jan 17, 2025
Margie Nell Lee Dietz, age 89, went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2025 in Gainesville, Georgia after a brief illness.
She was born in Heard County, Georgia on October 1, 1935 to the late Sam O. Lee and the late Hazel M. Lee. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Arthur T. Dietz and her brothers, Don V. Lee and Eli C. Lee.
Margie grew up in Carroll County Georgia and graduated from Bowdon High School in 1954. She loved her church, family and her closest friends, Effie and Lillian, along with her high school classmates and teachers. Her favorite music was Shape-Note singing which she learned from her maternal grandparents. She loved to attend Sacred Harp singing at Holly Springs Primitive Baptist Church near Bremen, Georgia. She also enjoyed writing poetry and she was a talented artist with painting, drawing and dried flower art. Margie loved flower arranging and was a member of the Garden Club of Gainesville, Georgia. She was always concerned for others and enjoyed helping in any way she could personally or through volunteering. She collected stories, old family recipes and pictures to create a detailed family tree book all on her own and shared it with all of her family. It is truly a priceless treasure. She asked individual family members to create quilt squares and had a beautiful quilt made that meant so much to her.
Margie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Rhonda & Scott Ballard, son and daughter-in-law John & Penny Baghose, Sr.; grandchildren Lindsay Ballard, Eric Ballard, Kelli Ann Ballard, Brandon Ballard, Danielle Ballard, John Baghose, Jr., Alex Baghose and Nicholas Baghose; sister and brother-in-law Brenda & Randy Gentry; and 6 nieces & nephews as well as numerous cousins.
